Kids Core and Fitness Classes

Giving Your Child Better Posture & Great Exercise Habits

 

Based in our studio in Cammeray

we offer group sessions for boys and girls

with a qualified and experienced personal trainer.

These sessions focus on training to improve the

key fitness areas of core and back strength,

technique correction during fitness activities and how to make exercise a fun, yet habitual part of their week.

The idea is to give kids a head start in

avoiding bad posture, while improving their

exercise techniques & habits for later in life.

If your child:

  • Slumps over by the end of the day,
  • Is turning into a mad gamer, or
  • Is really loving sports and training

then...now is the time to get good technique and core strength skills established for them.

Where is the class held?

All session are held here in our studio at Suite 2, 14 Cammeray Road Cammeray

The other benefits that your child will experience are:

  • Improved flexibility
  • Muscle endurance and strength
  • Long and lean muscles
  • Improved balance and
  • Significantly reduced chances of back pain, injury and muscles in balances

What do I need to bring?

  • a yoga/pilates style mat and/or a towel
  • a few layers of clothing as you will warm-up during the session
  • water

Should I eat before or after the class?

  • Core work is best done on an empty tummy. Something light like fruit and nuts is fine to stop the grumbles but save afternoon tea for after the session.
  • It's also best to have gone to the toilet before practice.

How many in the class?

Class size will be restricted to 10 to ensure individual attention. So get in quick before all the spots go!

What is the cost?

Each session is $10 and paid by the term in advance. Term 4, 2011 is for 8 weeks:

  • If attending one day per week the cost is $80
  • If attending both days the cost is $160.00

What if I miss a session?

This is a progressively programmed activity - if your child is going to miss a session and you can give us give us the 24hrs notice we will do our best to accomodate your child in an alternative session within the current term.

Is the trainer qualified to train children?

  • All Jump Start trainers hold Certificate IV in Personal Training.
  • All childrens programs are under the guidance of Heidi Dening,  the founder & director of Jump Start, who is also a trained & experienced Physical Education teacher.
  • All Jump Start trainers have had the Working with Children Check completed.
